We will hold our meeting at the usual time with lectures on Apple ID and Cider Making.  After the meeting our members are welcome to stay and participate in the Cider Pressing, Orchard Tours, pie contest & café that will follow in the same room.  Bring your family and friends.  The Public is encouraged to come.

October 2nd and 3rd, Saturday and Sunday – Cloud Mountain’s Annual Fall Fruit Festival

An annual event for the past 21 years, we have over 200 varieties of fruit and fruit products for you to taste and enjoy. Live music provides the background to this event, and Julia’s Pumpkin Patch is open for U-pick and we pick pumpkins at the Festival and throughout the month of October.

October 9th, Saturday - City Fruit Class Planting Young Fruit Trees and New Tree Care, South Seattle.  Plant your tree this fall—before the ground gets hard—and get a head start on your fruit.  The class covers site selection, fruit tree selection (how large? What type?), where to buy fruit trees, how to plant them and how to care for young trees.  Jana Dilley works on the Green Seattle Initiative with the City of Seattle Office of Sustainability and Environment.  She has a master’s degree in Forestry and in Public Affairs and has organized community tree-planting events in Seattle and California.
